On July 18, participants of the Poster Contest attended a “Tailgate Party” before a New England Revolution soccer game at Gillette Stadium, in Foxboro, MA. Over 170 kids from NEAHMA properties enjoyed burgers, hot dogs, shis kabobs, and pizza. We had a total of 320 people with chaperone’s, volunteers and staff from the properties. They were able to decorate a cupcake, have their face painted, play soccer and have a caricature drawn of them. The first 100 kids were also about to get a drawstring backpack to collect their snacks and giveaways from the New England Revolution of signed posters and a chance to win a bobble-head! Slyde the mascot was able to come take some pictures with the groups and a great DJ kept everyone movin’!
A lucky 25 kids also had the opportunity to participate in the Rally Tunnel before the game kicked off, as the Revs ran out onto the field. Everyone had a great time and the New England Revs (#nerevs) won 1-0 against the NYCFC (New York City Football Club). That night the attendance was over 28,000 at Gillette Stadium and we were happy to be a part of it all!
The Kid’s Day Planning Committee grew this year, and thank to all helped plan this event!
