The new requirement outlines that repairs that are deemed to be outside of “industry standard” will be cited as the closest relative UPCS deficiency. For example, if a hole in a wall is not repaired correctly, it will be cited as a “hole”, and the severity will depend on the size of the inappropriate repair. The same principle applies to all areas of a property.

During this webinar we will cover:
• A review of the HUD Inspector notice and what it covers
• How this notice affects inspections and your preparation for inspections
• How it impacts REAC Appeals and what documentation will be required for appeals with the new requirements
• Examples of deficiencies that are now part of the UPCS Inspection code with the introduction of these new requirements.
The new requirements outlined in this HUD Inspector’s notice add a new element of subjectivity that has not been part of the UPCS Inspection code previously. The fundamental underlying concept of the UPCS Inspection code used by REAC has been its objectivity, and with this change, HUD REAC has given its inspectors the ability to add new subjectivity to inspections and understanding this distinction is now vital to understanding how to perform well on REAC Inspections.
This webinar will discuss these new requirements, show descriptions of how these deficiencies will commonly be applied, and give participants a guide to understanding how they need to approach their properties.
REAC Inspections have become a cornerstone of the assisted housing world, and knowing how to succeed on these inspections is incredibly important for all properties and all companies working in the HUD-assisted housing industry. Join us for this webinar to better understand these new requirements. This webinar is vital for everyone at your company, from maintenance staff to executives.
