Many of our housing communities have applicants and residents whose primary or sole language isn’t English.  This engaging webinar will discuss:

  • The legal obligations to provide “meaningful access” to our housing programs for applicants and residents who have limited English proficiency.
    • What is the legal framework for this requirement? Does it matter how a site is funded/financed?  We will specifically review guidance the Department of Housing and Urban Development has provided for sites that receive federal dollars, as well as its guidance on obligations under the Federal Fair Housing Act.
  • The business related reasons to provide meaningful access to people whose primary language isn’t English?
  • Steps recommended Owners/Agents take to fulfill both their legal obligations and effectively address their business operations needs.
